Tallyframe

Redact before you paste into an AI. Restore after.

Maskback is one file that runs in your browser. Names, emails and numbers become placeholders before the text goes to ChatGPT or Claude. The reply comes back with the real details in place. Nothing leaves your machine.

One purchase, no subscription. Team licence 79.00. Full refund within 14 days.

Hi [NAME_1], please call [NAME_2] on [PHONE_1] or [EMAIL_1] before Friday. The card ending [CARD_1] was charged twice at [ADDRESS_1].

Try it now, free

The free version below does the full redact and restore, up to 2,000 characters per pass. Paste anything with names, emails or numbers in it, press Redact, and read what comes out. Detection is pattern-based: read the output before you send it, every time.

Prefer it on its own page? Open the free version. You can turn off your connection after it loads; it keeps working.

What it looks for

It finds the shapes personal data usually takes. It is not a guarantee: it can miss things, and it can mask things that are not personal data. That is why the redacted text stays on screen for you to read before you copy it, and why the same person always gets the same placeholder, so a long document stays consistent.

The paid file

The free page is complete for anything under 2,000 characters. The paid file is the same tool with the limits removed and the working features added, as one file you keep.

Plain answers

Who is behind this?
Tallyframe, a one-person software studio. No names or faces here, by design: the tool exists so that people can keep their own details private, and the studio keeps the same rule for itself. Everything the tool does is visible in the one file you download.
Does my text go anywhere?
No. After the page loads there are no network requests: no server, no account, no upload. You can turn off your connection and it keeps working. There is no analytics script on this site, and the fonts are served from this same address.
Will it catch everything?
No tool can promise that. Detection is pattern-based. Names are the hardest case, so the rule for names is deliberately cautious, and you can add your own names to the dictionary in the paid file. Review before sending.
What do I get for the money?
The full file, downloaded the moment you pay, with every future version of it available from the same receipt. Personal covers one person; Team covers the people of one organisation.
What are the terms?
You buy a copy of a file for your own use (personal) or your organisation's use (team). Do not resell or redistribute it. You are responsible for reviewing what you send to any third party. The seller is not liable for what you send or fail to send. Nothing here is legal advice.
